notice some chords have strings left out & some have an x.

so what's the difference between these 2 chords & how are they played?

Okay, you probably have the "correct" version. I just play the entire chords
E then G and follow the rhythm. (I dont leave any strings out) and to me it sounds exactly the same.

It may not be PERFECT, but its really really close. So my advise is dont leave any strings out when playing the intro.

Do I make sense?

yeah I know.. that's how I play it.. just Em, G. I was just curious as to what the difference is. I've seen it in other music too. u obviously have to mute the string if no fret is indicated but why wouldnt they right in an x?
unless there is 2 different types of muting.

ughh!! noooo!! ignore tabs like that, just follow the chords and rythm. mr cobain didnt wright it out like that, its about rythmic feel. tabs like that suck, its just geeks who want to wright out exactly what was played, which is important in a complex solo or lead, but not in this type of rythim

yeah, as long as it sounds good
u wouldnt even notice the difference if one of the strings was muted really
