gray acustic strings

What type of string are the gray colored strings on acustics. I've played with them before and love the sound, but can't remember what kind they are.

You mean steel strings instead of bronze?Lots if brands carry nickle wound...just go to a music shoppe and ask for steel(not bronze)acoustic strings.
