I was looking at some pick-ups and I saw an option for "F space pole positions" or "Standard pole positions". What does this mean? What are the differences? Pro's/Con's etc?

Thanks in advance for your help guys (and girls!!).

Here's something I found using google

F-spacing refers to a wider spacing between pole pieces. For proper string alignment and balanced output, F-spaced humbuckers should be used in the bridge position on all guitars with string spacing of 2.1" (53 mm) or greater at the bridge. This applies to most guitars with tremolos, as well as most newer fixed-bridge instruments. On guitars with a nut width of 1 11/16" (43 mm) or greater, F-spaced pickups can be used in the neck position as well.

Ahh thanks, so F spaced pu's would be the way to go?

When buying some new pu's will I want F spaced in the bridge position and standard in the neck? Or F spaced for both? (It would more than likely be an Ibanez i'd be putting the new pu's in.)

Cheers.

... When buying some new pu's will I want F spaced in the bridge position and standard in the neck? Or F spaced for both? ....Measure the distance from e string to E string at the bridge and at the nut, and compare those numbers with PRSplaya's info.
