There was an old Violin piece I transcribed and played around
with a few year's back called Goblin's Dance...Witches Dance,
something like that.

This was back when I had a guitar, no amp of any kind, so I
used to sit around listening to Paganini, Sarasate, and really
all kinds of Late Romantic period to contemporary Classical music,
and figure out these little tunes and play them on an unamplified
electric guitar. Violin...Piano Concertos...Etudes...

Impressive and glamorous it was...

Actually it sharpened my mind's ear, and exposed me to
different ideas musically, rather than the formula of
verse, chorus, verse, chorus bridge, verse, chorus, chorus...fini.

Of course...there were no drums or grinding chords in the background
of the Dance of the Goblin's, but you get the idea.

Anyway, had that Goblin Dance in mind when I started this.

Went a little wild and experimental at the "tempo change",
in the second part.

Wanted a lot of shrieking...violin like high notes.

Also, a cool trill combined with the Guitar equivalent of the
Glissando. Notice it's a scraped and hammered ascending,
chromatic based phrased and that even without frets, I hit
the notes on the money. Maybe I'll take up a fretless guitar.

This is not a really 100% serious piece of music, as I need drums
that change tempo,(without waiting a month for it to happen)
a bass, maybe some Roland keys for voices..effects...simulated
string sections...etc. etc. I'm working on it.

the soloing is really awsome but that being a song itself is just iffy. My recommendation would be to write a song that goes with that and use that whole piece as a solo. That would sound better. Nothing better that a long song with a sweet solo.

Wasn't really intended as a tune written in a R&R sense...maybe not a tune
at all....just sounded cool to me.

I am working on a coupla' traditional structured pieces. They both sound
very MacAlpine influenced.

Waiting on a Bass Player atm...

Here is one of the tunes I am working on..tentatively titled...

This is just the Outro solo, and then the main melody/chorus until fade...

Gliding upon Wastelands (http://f1velo-city.com/uploads/WASTELANDS_OUTRO_SOLO_AND_HARM.mp3)

Like I mentioned....waiting on a Bass player to heavy up the bottom, and
then I need to take some time and fine tune the mix....this is pretty rough...
