Ok I have an Applause AE48 A/E guitar and was wondering what kind of amps to look for. What I am looking for is something with reverb and chorus, and something not too expensive! I know there are acousitc amps out there, but can I use an electric amp as well? Can you tell just by the specs what kind of amp it is, or can I only tell if the title says it's an acoustic? Any advice I will surely take, thanks!

How much are you looking to spend, and how loud do you need to be?

A good powered PA head with built in effects and a couple of speakers can sound very good with an acoustic guitar, plus you've got the extra inputs for whatever else you may need.

I'm not looking to spend on more than $200, as this will be a practice amp. I'm not relaly looking for a particular amp, but I just wanted to know more information about the difference of an acoustic and guitar amp, also can an A/E guitar be plugged into a regular amp?

yes, an acoustic/electric can be plugged into a regular electric guitar amp. The difference is, the acoustic amp is designed to be flat so it can reproduce the sounds of the acoustic accurately, and using the eq's and such to enhance these natural tones. An electric gutiar's amp is designed to produce it's own tone in conjunction with the electric gutar. Even the speaker's are made to have a certain eq curve that is specific to electric guitars. Acoustic amps speakers are designed to be flat so they don't color the sound any. A keyboard amp would also work well for an acoustic/electric since they are also designed to reproduce the natural tone of whatever is plugged into them. You might want to look into something like this (http://www.music123.com/Behringer-KX1200-Keyboard-Amp-PA-System-i104627.music)
