I like to play metal like Metallica, Megadeath and OZZY(Randy and Zakk). I also like playing guitar rock like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani so which of these guitars is better suited for the task? If you suggest a different one with a tremelo arm make sure its relatively good and stays in tune well etc. Ibanez, Jackson etc.
First guitar EC-400AT (http://www.bmusic.com.au/prod3314.htm)
Secondly the other EC-400 (http://www.bmusic.com.au/prod3313.htm)
Feel free to make any other suggestions that suit this style, price limit around 700-800 $$$$$$$$$US Dollars$$$$$$$$$.A little bit of flexabilty either way.
Thanks, Chris.
I would go for the first one, partly because I don't like active pickups that much. But seeing you play Metallica, Ozzy, etc, you might want the one with active pickups.
I was considering the H-400 myself, which is similar. Does anyone have experience with these?

A schecter blackjack or hellraiser would be better than either of those...but if you must have an ltd, then go for the one with 81's...(I'm biased to emg's I guess)

WOW, I was looking at getting a LTD 400 AT but now I'm gassin for a shecter hellraiser. Although the blackjack is sweet too, I like SD pickups. Thanks Chuck.

Definitely the 400AT. The 400's body looks horrendous.

I would love to play one but the closest shop that carries the Schecter's is about two hours away from where I live. I want to go though. I probably will in a few weeks or so.

you can get a gibson sg special faded for $650, it's an excellent guitar, it can play all the afore-mentioned metal bands.
I however am looking to change the bridge pickup to a 498T rather then the 490T that came with it, then it'll have the same pickups as a gibson sg standard, the les paul studio, and the les paul supreme(a $3000 guitar!) along with other high end gibson guitars.
you could get it and the pickup for around $730, within the budget. but personally, I would not mind having either LTD, I want to own at least one guitar with active pickups, but I also want a guitar with the JB/59 set... so, I would take either, but for what you want, the JB/59 will do it (without batteries!)
