Hi! I'm having some serious trouble with sweep picking (Malmsteen-style)...
I know how to do it but i just can't seen to get the hang of it.
Could anyone out there give me some tips/tricks so i can finally work it out?
lol, thanks...jon

Thanks for asking that question, It's giving me trouble too. Am I supposed to use a softer pick and gently stroke downwards while hammering/pulling off? Or do you use a hard pick or does it matter.

I dont know if this is much help, but i find a heavier gauge pick to be very helpful in sweeping. Malmsteen uses (1.5 gauge picks) and i find those size picks to be the easiest to use for sweeping, and fast scaler runs. As for sweeping in general it takes practice like anything else, and getting your left hand and right hand coordinated enough to execute the technique.
