Upgradeable Guitar Pedal??

I play a mexican strat through a bluesdriver, crybaby and mxr phase 90 into a fender reverb. I’ve been playing guitar for 8 years and am looking to start using more effects. I want to get a multieffects pedal...i was thinking about the Digitech GNX4 and also found this company Mode Soundworks on harmony central (http://www.modesoundworks.com) I like the fact that the Mode pedal is upgradeable but want to get some other people's opinions before I decide. What do you think of these pedals?

I'm not familiar with those pedal's, but I do know the new Line 6 Podxt Live has the option of upgrading, changing effects, changing amp mods, etc....
