This is my attempt at a layered electric guitar sound. I put about 9 layers of guitars on it. Each layer has only one guitar string recorded on it. 3 layers for the main chord, 2 layers for the "bass chord" or power chord, 3 layers of sustained root note at different neck positions, and 1 layer of twelve string accoustic chord strumming.

I am sorry it is a bit short and repetitive but this technique takes forever to do.

Sounds good! Like a real expensive (Eventide) Harmonizer/Pitch shifter.

Lotta work doing that...got that right.

Interesting. Reminds me of Brian May of the band Queen.

Yeah I have always enjoyed their layered guitar sound. They would do an instumental like that every couple of albumns. I wonder who first invented that tecnique?

I think it was Mozart

Mozart sounds like a good candidate but I was thinking more in line with the electric guitar on overdriven amps kinda thing. :D

that is the coolest thing i have heard so far. in a way it sounds like you used a chorus pedal, but then again, well, it doesn't. really really neat though

Thanks for the compliment!

I didn't use a chorus pedal but the layering gives a similar effect as chorus would. The only chorus pedal I have is a zoom 606 but it sounds pretty crappy run in front of my amp when I am using my amps distortion.
