My band and me are planning on having a concert in about a month or two. Wer'e really new and I didn't even know the first thing about guitar when I joined. We can play some pretty good songs now, but we just stand on stage, thats no fun for a concert. I found out and learned how to do the windmill, but I've had trouble finding annymore guitar moves like that. Can annybody help me out?

Seriously,tricks aren't all that important.Just make sure you guys play your music with emotion and not like its 'foreign' to you.
not sure what kinda music you play,but staying in motion at appropriate times is important.If not headbanging or moving your upper body in some way your eyes should alway's be on the crowd(you can look at an 'imaginarey person' and it will look as if you have your eyes at the audience)and if not the crowd,then on your guitar while doing a solo,complex riff e.c.t.
Get the setup so you can spin your guitar around like ZZ Top.
Shoot your guitar with a flaming arrow like Ted Nugent.
Just get into the music and let your body move naturally to it. Don't think about it or it'll look like your thinking about it. Just don't do the stupid kick things that Yngwie does...Or the kick/skip thing that Angus Young does.

There have been times when I strode out of the venue feeling like the King Of The World...
other times...
like the fall of 1970.....
The second gig I ever played was the Fall Fair at the small town I grew up in. At night, of course... Outdoors, don'cha know... in the *&#%'n rain!!! :rolleyes:
This wasn't some high-dollar extravaganza. We were on a bare wooden platform without any sort of a canopy. The stage got seriously slippery in the wet, and the only one who didn't flirt with death by electrocution was the drummer.
The climax of the evening was when I did a big 'Pete Townsend' windmill, lost my footing, and did the splits into a puddle. :eek:

Dude if you're a good guitarist its alright if you show off your chops a little, but I wouldn't try any "tricks" just to impress the audience. If you start going over the top like that it won't be long til guitarist everywhere will great you with, "Hey wanka' how are you?" Just headbang a little and have a good time.
Playing the guitar behind your neck is so trite and corney. However when I do it the audience seems to love it. Go figure.

When I played at a dance for my school a few yrs back. I rested the guitar on my shoulder, and played in behind my head. I got alot of feedback from that, people loved it, and you can play an easy riff and do it so you dont look stupid.

hes right dont worry to much about the tricks just go with the muisic have fun some things will just come to you. maby hold your guitar up when playing
a solo or something give a big finish.

Try this stage trick, this will surely work ....
Bring your girlfriend to your gigs, Just let her stay at the backstage
for a meanwhile or any hidden part of the stage then when its time to play
the solo, ask her to run to you and make out with her passionately while
playing the guitar solo, Every time we did it on stage, the crowd always went
crazy asking for more. I guarantee you it always works........hehe, just make
sure to brush your teeth and gargle mouthwash before doing it , same with
your girlfriend, And if she don't want, pay a hot chick to do it with. I dont
think your girlfriend will refuse it when she learn about it. Hehe Peace..

Just throw yourself on the ground like you passed out and slowly rise back onto your feet while your guitar is in the air and playing a solo. Sort of like your guitar is pulling you back up with some kind of awsome force. Or you could just jump in the air and land on your knees and start playing like crazy like your having a seizure.

How can you still play while your girlfriend is making out with you? Wouldnt she get in the way? Of course unless you are very skilled in this matter, your solo might end up with you lying on the stage with ur girlfriend ripping your pants off and giving them to the stunned audience, and then the crowd errupts into a huge riot throwing chairs, crushing parked cars, taking down stop signs and throwing them through store windows...not from experience or anything like that.

Just run around sideways on the ground like Angus and before songs GRAB YOUR HAND AND GIVE A TOAST WITH YOUR GOBLET OF ROCK... Nah dude, just try playing behing your head and uf you have time before a semi hard lead play behing your back but practice rehookin your strap for a while so you dont screw the entire song.
