Hey guys. You probably already know (or not) that i'm finally making some sort of effort to learn how to read music. but I have one problem, where the hell is the equivilant of "middle C" on a guitar? Is it A string fret 3, or G string fret 5?
I know it's really stupid question, but I just need to know, thanks!

Hi Akira-
I'm new to the forums. Middle C on the guitar would be the tone you hear on 2nd string first fret (or G string fret 5 as you mentioned.) Keep in mind music written for guitar is actually an octave lower in pitch. Thats why middle C on the guitar would be the 3rd space on the musical staff. I hope I'm explaining this well.
Check out this link, it explains it better than I do: http://members.tripod.com/~johncomino/middlec.htm
Hope it helps. Cheers. PS: NO, it's NOT "a really stupid question"! :)
