Sweep picking is an advanced technique for playing arpeggios ... You pick on one direction when changing the strings instead of alternate picking.

Search for some exercises , and if you got problems , post here again.

the pick must be applied in a sweeping motion. when u pick down, the action or movment of the right hand, must be in a 'flow' meaning that the pick will have a similar movement as it does when u strum a chord. But in a chord where you play each note simultaneously, u will follow the same movement as u do when u strum a chord, but u don't do it as quick as the aim is to try and pick each note of the arpeggio, whilst having that flowing and movement and sound.

on this sites home page look for some sweep picking exercises, and try them out.

We go through at least one or two threads about this topic a month, try using the search forums option located in the toolbar and search for "sweeping" or "sweep picking" or "sweeps."

Then, search around on the rest of the site (the tricks and instructor's pages). Lastly, come back here with any questions.

Ive got an idea for this website so we never have to answer these questions again. We should start like a FAQ page that tells you what all techniques are and has video demostrations.. I tihnk that would clear up a lot.

video demonstrations would make it a lot clearer to explain things, so i second that opinion :D
