For those of you who don't know what it is I'll do a quick run down. Guitarmaggeddon is sponsored by Guitar Center, VH1, Fender, etc. It was started last year in the search of the best amateur guitarist. Various prizes are given away for the winners and if you win the nationals you recieve more than just some guitars and amps... you getta be on TV! Maybe it's just me that thinks this is a great opportunity for guitarists' to "show their stuff". But the contest starts in April and at the Guitar Center where I live not a whole lot of people have signed up. So if you're not in a signed band you're eligable to participate. And just to warn all those who live in southern Cali... don't shred for 5 minutes straight! I went and saw regionals last year and everyone got docked points on originality when they did it. Also, Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai were the judges so I'm sure they don't get too impressed when they see people shredding.

That sounds cool!! i wish i could see that contest, sounds like it would be like the last 10 minutes in "crossroads."

I guess you gotta go with some blues like lightning boy and save the shred for the end eh?

You know it actually is a lot like the ending of Crossroads. Well, except for Satan, Ralph Machio, and the dancing girls. But yeah :).

Is it also nothing but black folk in the crowd and the entire room is poorly lighten lol? I wonder if vai would get a kick outta someone playig eugene's trickbag or would he be very unimpressed and angry?

I envy you Americans, I really do. Seems like we get nuttin' like this over the pond in the UK...at least, I don't get to hear anything about these kind of things...hmmm...
Still, sounds like something worth while. Something to aim towards isn't it?
Rask. - go on, get a lift or summit, it'd be a laugh. Imagine the look on there faces when a bassist tries to outstage a room full of guitarists...I'd love to see that!
