View Full Version : Unemployment Blues

So I've decided to be brave and post a song I recorded today up for y'all to have a listen-to. I'm not a whiz with fruity loops or other drum programs, so I just used a drum setting from my RP300 for the drum track. I mailed a version of this song to the drummer dude who said he'd mix in drum tracks on any song so when I get his version back with live drums I'll be sure to put a link up for that song.
I came up with this song over the summer and named it Unemployment Blues because I've been unable to get a job since I got out of college and well, my life's been real ****ty. But I've had an interview, and a few more job possibilities open up lately so hopefully it'll be someone elses turn to suffer for a while, I've had my turn...

WWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Duude, that was teh r0x0r! You just need some lyrics! When I gets my mic, then I'll let you know, and we can give this tasty groove some words! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D
Although, there was one riff that I didn't like. But man...the rest was Groove-tastic! :D

I kinda feel it gets stagnant at some places. Whereabouts timewise was the riff you didn't like?

Thanks dude, it's nice to seek and get approval from other guitarists. By the way, how's your band doing? I'm still waiting to see if I get that job in Memphis, I should know by next week sometime.

the band is...well...it's going. I'm still the only guitarist, which is kinda bummin me out, but I guess I'll get over it. We're playing a little party gig tomorrow which should be fun.

What's "huzzah" mean? I see you use that word on a few posts, but I'm clueless. Is it just an expression like boo-ya! ?

I'll never turn down free food. But maybe the fruit cake thing is an American anomaly? I'm not sure.. We give each other fruitcakes at Christmas time for some reason or another..

Fried Mars bars rock. Yummy!
And asregards the song, I think it's really great. Add some bass and some vocals and wahaay!!
Leedogg

Thanks dude. Jolly's down for the vocals. As for the bass, I could always pull a Jack White (man I hate that guy), and use an octave drop setting for a bass... Or maybe I could just find a bored bass player.

Personally i'd go with the bored bass player, but hey, whatever tickles your pickle. :D

I have the RP200! Huzzah! What's the improvement between the two, do you know?

Silly me, I was expecting blues.
I agree...crank it up to about 130% and it's got that classic 80's ti...err...gentleman's club sound.
