After dropping my Peavey Tracer off to get it setup and restrung, I made a couple stops at music stores in the area. My last destination was that of Joe's Music. I figured I'd go look at maybe adding a third Peavey to the collection, but nothing caught my eye. Enough babbling.
I played through a JSX during my time spent in the store. For those that don't know, say hello to Joe Satriani's signature amp. Although I didn't crank the amp and torture the workers, the amp sounded amazing at comfortable playing levels. I used the time to get an ear for the ultra channel. There was enough gain to get some good rock in and not worry about not making any note undistinguishable. The noise gate was a nice option, but it made me forget to do my Van Halen "Year to the Day" impression. It makes me wonder if I'm really paying off my credit card come tax season. Here's the stats:
120 watts
4 12AX7s and 4 EL34s
3 channels (clean, crunch, ultra)
