undefined Ok i got a guitar for X-mas a year or so ago and i used to take lesons but i gave up because my teacher wasnt showing me the things i wanted to learn. One of my friends from school is pretty good with his guitar so i asked him what good songs would be for a begginer and he said he had NO IDEA so im asking anyonw who can help me out by naming some songs for me that might be easy to pick up OTHER THAN smoke on the water lol :) :) :) anything will help

Thanx

That Franz Ferdinand song has quite the catchy guitar part to it, I may have to check it out myself.

Iron Maiden - The Trooper
Megadeth - Angry Again
Norther - Endless War

Actually, the trooper's not bad if you're a beginning metal-head.

Unless you try the solos. For a beginner to play those... I'd be surprised to see it done.

Try some power chordy songs in the beginning. For some lead work, start on some zeppelin riffs, they're pretty easy and recognizable. When I was a beginner I learned all the stuff on this site. (http://www.worldguitar.com/start.html)

songs with chords are better than playing songs with riffs. learn all the chords. play songs with easy chords. A, E, D, etc. theres not that many major chords that are hard. once u get chords down u can play many songs. for example, "wild thing" - A A, D D, E E, D D ,

Your very mistaken check out the new slipknot song pulse of the maggots the solo in sounds pretty damn good and i think its unbelivebly hard but some of the older slipknot songs look pretty easy. :)

P.s. No i dont liek slipknot but that solo is good
