I dont know too much about theory and Ive been writing my music down lately in standard notation and I keep writing alot of sharps when I know there are key signatures that would allow me not to write them but anyways in this piece im writting I keep running into F# and G#....what Key signature could I use so I wouldnt have to write those 2 sharps all the time

If you want to memorize those signatures easily:

Sharps appearance in order:

[NONE,F#,C#,G#,D#,A#,E#,B#]

Names of the key signature in order (match them to the order of ths sharp appearance):

[C,G,D,A,E,B,F#,B#]

*This is called cycle of fifth (the distance between each two successive notes is a fifth)*

Flats apearance in order:

[NONE,B,E,A,D,G,C,F]

Name of Key signature in order:

[C,F,Bb,Eb,Ab,Db,Gb,Cb]

*This is the cycle of fourth*
