"I've doubled the speed of my learning!"

""I love the site! I have been trying to learn the guitar on my own by just learning the chords and getting help from my brother whenever he is around, but it has been slow going. The videos have really helped me and I think I have at least doubled the speed I am learning at. Keep up the good work and I will definately recommend you guys to anyone asking for advice in learing how to play the guitar!""

One of the first ways to add some pickin' into your playing is to learn to walk into chords while strumming. This technique will allow you to develop the stronger rhythm and lead techniques that are the signature sound of country music. You'll find the left hand movement fairly simple. It lines up with everything we've learned so far. Pay close attention to the right hand. It becomes a little more involved in the process in this lesson and the lessons to come.

In the tab below, you'll find the basic motion of walking into the C major chord in the top line. The second line deals with the fundamental strum pattern I demonstrate using the walking pattern at the end of the lesson.
